First Steps for Admins
Activate and Log In
Once you subscribe to the software, you'll receive a Welcome Email that will help you activate your tenant and log in to the system for the first time.

System Ownership
The individual who purchases SAP Analytics Cloud is automatically designated as the System Owner. However, the purchaser may not always be the right person to administer the system. You can easily transfer the System Owner role to the appropriate person in your organization.

System Administration
System Owners can start by exploring the Administration area. In this area you'll find the settings to configure your system before adding users, connecting to data sources, and using other integrations.
The administration area and most of its features can be accessed by all users with an Admin-level role. Keep reading to learn about more adding users and assigning roles.

Set up your Team
Security
SAP Analytics cloud is committed to trust, security, and compliance in the cloud. Security features are built into every layer of the software. For more information on how SAP keeps your data safe, visit the SAP Cloud Trust Centre.
Within SAP Analytics Cloud, you can specify permissions for different areas of the software and manage individual access rights to your content.

User Management
When you're ready to get your team up and running using SAP Analytics Cloud, you'll want to add other users to your system. You can add users manually or by importing from Active Directory.

Role Management
Assigning roles to your users maintains access rights and secures your information in SAP Analytics Cloud. When users are added to your system they will be given a default role, which you can specify. There are pre-existing roles in your system and you can create custom roles to suit your needs.

SAP Analytics Cloud uses your business information to help your whole organization make confident business decisions. There are a few steps you'll need to complete to create a consumer-grade analytics environment.
Connecting to Data
Before you can start making stories and data-driven decisions, you'll need to connect to your data first. SAP Analytics cloud can retrieve data from spreadsheets, on-premise databases, and cloud databases, or a combination of all three.
Live Data Connections use native connectivity while Import Data Connections acquire data from your systems for data preparation and blending purposes.

Data Models
Data models help you to provide a trusted self-service analytics environment in your organization. They should be prepared, governed, and secured by system administrators, ensuring accurate and consistent information.
Model creators clean and blend acquired data with built-in data preparation features. Models based off of Live Data Connections query the data source directly.
